Stay focused and don't get distracted by everything happening around you. Making friends is great, but don't let it take over your study time. The first year of college is key to setting a strong foundation. Before going out or doing something else, check your assignments. Ask yourself if you can still finish your work if you take a break. If the answer is no, it's better to skip the outing.
