What are the first steps to take to own a franchise or business after college?
I am a high school senior and will soon be in my first year at McMurry University. While attending, I want to take advantage of any opportunity to help support my future goal of starting a franchise or business. I also want to use these opportunities to support my community, make a difference, and do good for the world.

In college, take classes in accounting & finance, marketing, business law, and entrepreneurship that may help you run a business. If you have an idea of the type of business then classes that let you acquire expertise in that business area.
After college, the 1st step is to get extensive experience in the type of business that you want to eventually own/run. You'll also want to save plenty of money and established excellent credit that you'll need to start a new business or franchise. Depending on the business, it takes tens to hundreds of thousands $s to get started.
Alternatively, you'd just need to win a large lottery prize to buy or start any business you like.
