Whats the best method for applying for scholarships?

I need scholarships, but I'm not sure what the best method is for applying to them. Should I just apply to as many low effort/no essay scholarships as I can, or should I spend more of my time on the ones that'll take a lot of work since they usually have higher rewards. I'm also struggling with finding scholarships I can apply to because I'm going into my freshman year with an undecided major.

Hello Savannah, great question. There are many low difficulty scholarships out there that you could apply to with a shotgun approach. However, if there is a scholarship with a large reward, and you could write an essay in an hour and submit it, then that is also likely worth your time. When else can you do a couple hours of work and be awarded five figures? I would recommend searching for any scholarships that might apply to you, if you belong to any special groups or are interested in a certain field. There are many general scholarships as well, which apply regardless of major. Your position is not unique, and there are many people who feel the way you do. If you apply to a few scholarships a day, or over a week, you are likely to be selected for more than one, which will be very helpful to fund college.

If you are having trouble, you can find many easily applied to scholarships on different pages such as Scholly, Going Merry, or RaiseMe. They collect hundreds of scholarships you can apply to from their database, and I recommend checking them out if you have trouble finding the perfect one.
