Wendy’s Answer

Hello Meadeau, Nice to meet you ~~ I am Wendy, hmm, my advice is quite simple : just to ask your heart.
When I graduated from University I joined one company to be a manager assistant, the role is just to do what the manager ask me to do which is the advice from the one who I took over the job. So everyday, where can find the manager then where I stay, at the very beginning no special. But such days just keep one week. Then the manager asked me to type message to the customers, I need complete the message when he stop express. So quite challenge to a fresh one. You can image that I can't meet his exceptions. And then he call for department meeting start from 20:00-24:00, at early, I just thought it is weekly or monthly, No.it is Daily. Oh my gosh ! He summarized all the issues that occurs in that day, which shows person in charge, process, target & deadline, everyday he followed up it. To me, I even can't understand what he said even he speak Chinese, but I was newly hired and I should need to study it so I heard it carefully and study how to make excel/PPT reports as the manager request. Yes, the manger is workaholic, even weekend I need come to the office as the rule is where he stay where I stay. Such days continue 1 year. One day I suddenly I found frequently I go to hospital and took medicine daily like have meal, then I make a decision : Quit. The manager asked me to stay from his true heart, but I already decided. So when I found my healthy has problems & I can't make the environment changing then choose left. However, today, I still appreciate that days and nights, it makes me grow up rapidly, really learn lots from that 1 year, manufacturing process, meeting arrangement, preparation reports & presentation skills &make meeting minutes (no AI ), business etiquette, audit supplier.... .So if there is confusion on how to judge if the job fit you or not, just ask your heart, listen what you have heard & accept it to make change. Pls DO remember you always deserve much more better. Pls never stop steps to make further movements, never stop study, make you strong , make you more confidence then to help more and more. It is really nice ~~ Hopefully it can help you and bless you everything smoothly and enjoy life ~~ Thank you ~~

Wendy recommends the following next steps:

can you change yourself ?
can you change your environment ?
change the one you can then you can find the way.

Dino’s Answer

Hello Meadeau,

Thank you for reaching out to us with such a thoughtful question! It reminds me of my time as a counselor, guiding students through their challenges. They often asked how to handle misbehaving students or those with academic and family issues. I always shared that building a career takes time. It’s shaped by your childhood experiences, family, friends, and the media you consume. Your unique talents and abilities, whether from your DNA or gifts, all play a part in who you will become.

Discovering your passions, interests, skills, and understanding what you like or dislike will guide you to a fulfilling future. These insights will help you find meaning and purpose, and decide if the medical field or another path is right for you. Before making a career choice, consider all aspects of your life. Doing so ensures you make informed decisions for both your career and personal life. You’ve got this, and your journey will be uniquely yours!

C’s Answer

Here are some indicators that the career is the right fit for you:

1. You look forward to going to work every day & you are truly passionate about what you do
2. The work feels meaningful to you
3. It is a good fit based on your skills and allows opportunities for learning and growth
4. Sometimes, it may be an intermittent step to gain experience, earn some money for your needs etc. Not everyone lands their perfect job as their 1st job.
5. The work environment is supportive - that is, coworkers are willing to help you learn, the company is invested in your career growth.
6. Internships are a great way to determine if the career is a good fit - if the internship checks off several of the above points, then it's probably a good fit.
7. If you know people who work in that company, you can ask them about the culture, request for shadowing etc.

Good luck in your career!
