I found success with a Physics course early in my undergrad years, and it really struck a chord with me. I connected well with the professor, and after some discussion, I joined him in the lab and later became a "supplemental instruction leader" for Physics classes. This role is similar to a tutor, funded by the university. The great thing about these school-related jobs is their flexibility with schedules, especially during finals and holidays. You'd be amazed at how many roles are needed to keep a campus running. Even jobs that seem simple, like monitoring a computer lab or helping at the IT desk or library, can lead to more exciting opportunities in the future.
