Use AI to help you with it, but longer isn't always better. For an Ice Cream Shop I would try to go in and talk to the person that is hiring. Most likely they want someone that is able to work with people and show up on time. Just remember applying for jobs is often a numbers game, but if you really want to work at one place you have to try to make yourself stand out.

Hi Jamira!

Alex is right—showing you are reliable and excellent at customer service is crucial for any job! To make your resume more impressive, try adding 2-4 bullet points for each experience. Highlight leadership roles like being a team captain or school president, and use numbers to show your achievements, like tutoring 5 students weekly.

Here are some experiences to consider:

- School Activities: Include clubs, sports teams, student government, band, choir, or theater.
- Volunteer Work: Mention all community service, even if it was just a one-time event.
- Part-Time Jobs: Babysitting, tutoring, lawn care, retail, or helping in a family business count.
- Academic Projects: Talk about group projects, science fairs, research, or presentations.
- Competitions: Include events like Science Olympiad, debate, math competitions, or art contests.
- Summer Programs: List any camps, workshops, or enrichment programs you attended.

Also, think about adding these sections:

- Skills: Mention languages, computer skills, social media, or public speaking.
- Awards & Honors: Include academic awards, honor roll, scholarships, or other recognitions.
- Certifications: List any certifications like CPR, lifeguard, Microsoft Office, or coding.
- Interests: Briefly share hobbies or interests that show your personality or initiative.

Good luck with everything!

Kelly recommends the following next steps:

Use clear section headings and consistent formatting.
Make sure your resume is visually balanced
Proofread: Make sure your resume is error-free and easy to read.

Think about the different categories that you can add to the resume. You will want to include: contact information, skills, work experience (or volunteer work if you have limited work experience to showcase), education, and you can even add a summary (which acts as an "About Me" section).

Use AI to help, but always be sure to tailor the final output to sound more like you. Try the prompt "Please help me to write and tailor my resume for a job application at an ice cream shop. "

And remember to keep your resume to one page!
