Anna’s Answer

That’s such a good question—finding community after college can definitely take more effort, but it’s absolutely possible. One of the best ways is to get involved in activities you enjoy. Joining rec sports leagues, pick-up games, or hobby meetups (like running clubs, book clubs, or gaming groups) can help you meet people with similar interests. Professional networking events, alumni groups, or volunteering are also great ways to build both friendships and career connections.

It can feel a little intimidating at first because you have to be more intentional than in college, but the good news is most people are also looking to make new connections after school—they just don’t always say it out loud. Try a few different activities until you find what feels like the right fit, and give yourself time. Community often builds gradually in this new stage of life!
