Hi Clare. Great question. As others have shared, a handwritten note is a nice way to personalize your "thank you" and one that will surely be appreciated by the scholarship grantor.

If the organization also has an event or meeting you can attend, you can also consider thanking the organization in person and sharing an update on how the scholarship has helped you in your educational goals. This can help by:

1) Allowing you to remain in touch with the organization and have access to individuals who can possibly help you in your future career goals.

2) Enable you to learn about possible future graduate scholarship opportunities.

3) Encourages donors and supporters to see how valuable scholarships are and lets them celebrate your success with you!

Best wishes to you.

Melisa recommends the following next steps:

Remain in contact with the Scholarship Grantor.
Consider a video thank you if you can't thank them Scholarship Grantor in person.

Hey Clare, I would say to write out a personalized note thanking them for their consideration, and express your gratitude and mention how excited you are to be continuing your education thanks to their contributions!

Thank you comment icon I am excited that you are thinking about how to express your gratitude! I agree with the other two comments. One suggestion I can add is that you can include a picture of yourself doing something for your education (giving a presentation, volunteering, etc.). Donors love to have a face to go with the name. Thank you comment icon Jasmine, great advice! I like the tip on including a picture of yourself doing something for your education. That should definitely leave a lasting impression. Thank you. Sheila Jordan
