Critical thinking is still important as AI tools are there to help supplement and not replace. It's only as helpful as the person who is using it is able to leverage what it can offer. You have to be able to ask the right questions, breakdown a problem in order to look through it through various lens and therefore to get to the solution that is good for you or your business. This applies to both your job and your life in terms of personal relationships. Developing your communication skills both written and orally will better equip you in whatever field you choose and whether or not you use AI. This will also help you to convey a story which is a skillset that is not easy to come by and very much undervalued.

- It is a uniquely human trait and action, which is something that AI cannot replicate. I encourage it by always showing up for people, asking what they need in a specific situation, and doing all I can to provide required support.
- It helps us find biases within AI
- Important to bring human-centralism in real time because AI can help with delivering projects faster and cheaper, but it does not enhance relationships in person as effectively as humans. I find empathy one of the most foundational building blocks to strong relationships.
- Humans feel and that will not go away regardless of how much AI is used in the workplace. I encourage empathy by asking how people are doing, how they are feeling, what is bothering them.
- Everyone is still learning and interacts with AI in different ways also the human connections are still fundamental to teamwork and client work.

Even if AI has an answer to most questions, the answer may not be based on facts and logic, as AI can make an answer sound realistic when it could in fact not be. Therefore, we should double check our answers before fully relying on AI tools 100%.
It is essential to gain EVEN MORE critical thinking skills as AI tools become more advanced. Things may seem true on paper and only after a human critical thinking may the facts and circumstances change. Human intervention and deepening the human connection to the problem - that will become the bedrock of trust in solving problems.
It is essential to still think independently and sharpen our skills to confirm the capabilities and solutions provided by artificial intelligence. We should collaborate and authenticate the ideas provided by AI, not accept them as the final or correct answer always.

AI can surface patterns, but it cannot determine relevance, context, or ethics. Critical thinking ensures outputs are evaluated, validated, and applied responsibly. Without it, organizations risk blind reliance on tools that may be biased, incomplete, or misaligned with real-world goals.
AI can think faster but not better than what Humans think. AI systems are going to get more capable at the cost of sloppy reasoning and that's when the value of human judgement is going to rise. The basic human skills that's going to differentiate the outputs from the work humans have done vs what AI has done are defining problems and goals, assessing quality, handling uncertainties and risks, detecting bias and fairness issues, guiding against manipulation, making ethical and legal judgements, learning. These skills are inherent to humans and can hardly be passed on to a machine.
AI has access to a vast amount of data gathered from published sources but lacks the ability to discern and decide which options are best. It’s up to us, as people, to use the information AI provides to solve problems and improve processes. Since AI can also make errors, we need to be critical and vigilant in identifying them.
AI has many mistakes, hallucinations and only you know your client's or boss's taste and preferences. Applying critical thinking elevates what has been automated.

AI is often wrong, but when AI is wrong, it still manages to sound smart and be confident. This can make it easy to trust and go along with what it is saying, when in reality you always need to be able to critically think about the answers AI gives you.

When this is repeatedly done that leads to outsourcing judgement and losing your ability to question information that is being presented as truth. True understanding comes from engaging with information, not just consuming it. Critical thinking helps you evaluate why something is said, who is saying it, and what motive or perspective might be behind it. It reminds people to ask what assumptions are being made, what might be missing from the narrative, and whether or not it aligns with truth or just what feels familiar. So while AI can be a very powerful tool, it should never be a replacement for discernment. When people stop thinking critically they stop being the author of their own understanding. I like to think of it as, the more intelligent the tools become, the more intentional humans must be. While AI can give us information, only we can turn it into insights.

Based on existing architecture of non-deterministic AI, we can expect AI tools to be wrong in confident and persuasive ways, however seldom. Decisions we make as critical thinkers will determine to what degree we can prevent damage resulting from AI hallucinations.

Critical thinking is so important because human thinking is something that can't be replaced by AI. While AI has become an incredibly important tool to support day-to-day workplace tasks, AI lacks empathy and the ability to read specific cues that humans can. We must continue to maintain our critical thinking skills and constantly grow as learners so that we can continue to innovate and leverage these new tools available to us to the best of our ability.
