Meeta’s Answer

Critical thinking is still important as AI tools are there to help supplement and not replace. It's only as helpful as the person who is using it is able to leverage what it can offer. You have to be able to ask the right questions, breakdown a problem in order to look through it through various lens and therefore to get to the solution that is good for you or your business. This applies to both your job and your life in terms of personal relationships. Developing your communication skills both written and orally will better equip you in whatever field you choose and whether or not you use AI. This will also help you to convey a story which is a skillset that is not easy to come by and very much undervalued.

PwC’s Answer

- Critical thinking will be even more important as we leverage AI insights to deliver client value

- AI can’t pick up on the tone in the room, physical signals, or even connect ALL the dots. There’s a lot of “outside” data to consider and it’s up to us to interpret and understand what’s relevant, what’s not, and modify for the situation.

- While AI is great at certain tasks there will always be critical thinking skills needed. Solving problems for our clients make us trusted advisors.

- The ability to apply concepts and information to real world patterns requires critical thinking. While AI can be used to facilitate the consumption of information faster, critical thinking translates that information to action.

Kate’s Answer

Critical thinking is so important because human thinking is something that can't be replaced by AI. While AI has become an incredibly important tool to support day-to-day workplace tasks, AI lacks empathy and the ability to read specific cues that humans can. We must continue to maintain our critical thinking skills and constantly grow as learners so that we can continue to innovate and leverage these new tools available to us to the best of our ability.

PwC’s Answer

- We will always need humans to evaluate the reliability and relevance of AI systems. Successful people will be able to challenge and question AI outputs and put them into context

- Someone needs to validate AI output to ensure it is sensible, accurate, and relevant. AI tools can produce false information that threatens to undermine their credibility, thereby limiting their adoption and reducing the potential gains to society.

- AI helps you work more efficiently but it doesn’t have all the answers and the output still needs to be critically evaluated for accuracy
