Best ways to get good roommates?

What is the best way to go about finding roommates? Should I try to search online or just fill out the school's survey?

If you're looking for a place to live on campus, the best thing may be to fill out the roommate matching surveys in your school's housing website. The surveys ask the important questions so you can find a good roommate and you can also see a list of others who are looking for roommates and maybe even chat with them.

For off-campus housing, some schools also have portals for finding off campus roommates so you should try that first.

If you can't find from there, a lot of schools have Reddit pages so you could potentially find the one for your school and try to find a roommate there. You can also look for Facebook groups related to your university or city where people post about housing. Just be careful online. Watch out for scams and don't share personal information with strangers without verifying them especially because you can't vet that they actually go to your school.
