Start by choosing 2-4 designs you want for your bracelets. Next, plan your budget for materials and consider finding a vendor to save money. Use social media to promote your items and reach more people.

Lindsey’s Answer

Hi there!
It is awesome that you want to start a homemade bracelet business. First, I would recommend looking into options of where you want to sell your bracelets. Do you want to sell them online? Are there opportunities to sell in person or in local stores? This can help you know your options and make goals accordingly.

Next I recommend thinking about your target audience. Factors you can think about when looking at your target audience is: age, gender, location, what platforms they use the most, occupation, family status, interests, and values. While this may seem like a lot, it is important to establish who your target audience is so you can tailor your goals and online presence to them so you can better reach who you intend to.

Look at your competition. See who else is doing what you want to do or are doing something similar. Look at what they do and see if there are any gaps. If there are any gaps in what they are doing, brainstorm what you can do to fill in those gaps. See what you like that your competition does and take inspiration. Don't just copy them, make it your own!

Social media is so important. Pick a few platforms to start with at first. Research optimal posting times for your target audience, look at trends and see if you could jump in, and make sure you familiarize yourself with the features of that platform to make sure you make the most of it. Posting daily is usual a good rule of thumb for most platforms.

Finally, look at costs. What materials would you use and how much would it cost? How much money will it take to start up? Are there any areas you can save money without sacrificing quality?

Overall starting any business is a lot of work. There is a lot to do and a lot to think about. My overall advice is to do your research! You can save yourself a lot of stress if you do your research before you start.

Good luck!
