Being a pharmacist is a great career choice. It's not just about giving out medicine; pharmacists know how drugs work and help people use them safely. They also play a big role in managing prescriptions and caring for patients.

To become a pharmacist, you'll need to go to college. The typical path is to finish high school, then spend two to four years in college studying subjects like biology, chemistry, and math. After that, you'll go to pharmacy school to get a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Some students start their PharmD program after a couple of years in college, while others complete a bachelor's degree first. It takes time, but if you enjoy science, healthcare, and helping others, it's very rewarding.

If you're in high school now, focus on doing well in your science classes, especially chemistry and biology, and develop good study habits. Try to volunteer at a hospital or pharmacy or talk to a pharmacist to learn more about their work. You don't need to have everything figured out yet, but being curious and asking questions can lead you to a career you love.
