Rajesh’s Answer
Most athletes don't make a career out of sports. Even in big leagues, less than 2% of high school athletes go pro, and those careers are often short, usually 3 to 5 years. Schools and sports leagues want athletes to graduate with an education and skills for the future, not just experience in games. College sports focus on being a "student-athlete," which means being a student comes first, and sports are part of your education. In NCAA sports, you must keep up with your studies to keep playing.
