Melissa’s Answer

Once you learn your career interest and aptitude, seek out others in that field. Ask them questions, such as what does your typical day look like? What is your favorite part of your job? What is the hardest? What kind of college did you attend and where did you get your training?

I agree that it would be helpful to go to your local hospital or clinic and meet the folks that work there. A tour of their facility would also be helpful, so ask for that.

Good luck!

Ken’s Answer

There are people in many different career areas working in a hospital. Some are involved in the business area of the hospital, some are involved in the maintenance area of the hospital, and some are involved in the patient care area of the hospital.
The best way to find out where you might fit is to talk to your school counselor about taking an interest and aptitude test to see in which career area your interest and aptitude might fall.
Also, if you want to learn more about what is going on in a hospital, volunteer at your local hospital or clinic. You will get to know some very interesting people.
Send thank you notes to people who help you.
I will be happy to help you further if i can.
Please keep me posted as I would like to know how you are doing in your career exploration.
