Galyne- I will echo some of Scott's answers and add that while your test scores and grades are important, there are other components as well. Scott mentions online resources and he is correct that you should pursue those. It will also be helpful for you to contact the administrative (maybe Registrar) offices for your prospective schools to inquire if they have any programs available to you, or local scholarship funds they work with. I would also recommend that you add as much volunteer time for organizations that interest you as you can, as that will be helpful in your admissions process and may also help you connect with additional opportunities.

Scott’s Answer

SAT and ACT are very important for Scholarships. After you take them the first time get an ACT/SAT tutor.  They can teach you methods for increasing your scores. As for the scholarships themselves apply to LOTS of them. 1000s of them. There are a couple of free resources on line that will provide you with links to them. www.collegescholarships.org is one of them. Avoid any site that requires you to pay them for lists. They are scams.  I had a friend that completed 4 years at FSU completely on Scholarships by simply applying for them non stop. Make it your part time job and complete 10 to 20 a week. Good Luck!!
