I would say it depends on your PC compatibility.

Few of my suggestions are:

  1. Intel Core i9-9900K - This also allows 4k gaming
  2. <span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34);">AMD Ryzen 5 2400G </span>

Hi Lillian,

The first thing you have to think about when finding the best CPU for games is the type of load that games put on computers. Modern microprocessors can have many cores inside them, allowing them to work on many tasks at the same time. That is good if you can split up the work you have to do for a program, but games have a hard time doing this. They work better if you have faster cores, not more cores. A 32 core Threadripper 2990WX sounds really cool, but modern games wouldn't be able to use many more than 4 of them.

If you want to see the best gaming CPU overall, I would check benchmarks like this one: https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2263?vs=2125

The top end processors for AMD and Intel are pretty close in performance right now, so you won't go wrong either way.

The best gaming CPU for you on the other hand, depends on your budget. There are many sites that put computer builds together at different price points that are helpful, like https://www.logicalincrements.com/ or https://pcpartpicker.com/

When it comes to playing video games and making budget decisions regarding which components to buy, it's best to put the money mostly on the dedicated graphics card. The power and performance of the GPU will provide you the best "bang for your buck."
