Do you have to go to college in order to become a mechanic?

If you are referring to being a vehicle mechanic then no you don't. In fact several of the major car manufactures have programs to train a person in the field and give them a job afterward. Sometimes these programs are in cooperation with a local community college. So, do some digging in your area for this if you are interested. Good luck.
