I started college going into video game design. I you like paying attention to the smallest details and seeing all those things come together into a finished product then I would say definitely! You can do games for people to enjoy or you can even develop military simulations for our armed forces as well. It feels very rewarding when someone finds value in a game you have created so I encourage this field!

I thing to keep in mind is that "playing games" is very different from "designing games". I would encourage you to try a game design course in a community college (or even online maybe) to see if you like it. Ultimately, you would be the ONLY person who can answer your question! Good luck!
