Ask for them.

I was working for a warehouse at one point time grabbing things off shelves. We get O.T. every day but on Friday we would end early and all the extra time would disappear. So what I ended doing was just asking for more things to do or clean on Friday so I can keep my O.T.

In conclusion best thing to do is to ask you boss for hours.

It would be in your best interest to ask you supervisor/manager for more hours. The worse thing you can do is assume, always ask, it does not hurt you.
