Electricians are usually in high demand. It requires lots of hands-on, very detailed work but you will rarely be out of work. A tech or trade school would be a good place for training. Otherwise you might be able to find an apprenticeship.

You can get on-hand training and education through trade schools or through the military. The military has a wonderful training program in all electrical areas as to distribution, industrial, commercial and residential.
