Matt’s Answer

In my role I work as a HR Partner which involves a few things... running people programs like annual review, promotions and employee engagement which assesses how happy or unhappy an employee is currently in our organisation. I also guide our managers on performance management, conflict resolution, values and culture, internal mobility and employee retention.

Niall’s Answer

A day in my role involves me getting immersed with every department in the company. I work as a sourcing consultant on the recruitment team. I help recruiters look/source for talent and build pipeline of people for different teams in the Company.

I spend my day with different departments and getting an understanding of how they work and operate (attending their meetings and chatting with managers) This allows me to fully understand the role so I can go to the market and find people on different recruiting platforms (linkedIn/Xing/indeed etc.) that are suited for the role. During my day I also attend team meetings hosted in different offices to present updates over the past week and talk about upcoming challenges/concerns and brainstorm with the team how to overcome these challenges.

Another aspect of my day to day goings is helping teams balance diversity (gender/sexuality/race etc.) I work with the diversity and belonging team to help out wit organising/brainstorming events to help build brand awareness for different minorities (for example women who code) I spend my day conducting market research online about different events that have been successful in different companies and figure out how to make them applicable to my company
