Kevin’s Answer

I don't work in cement myself, but my dad did while I was growing up. He'd go to work early and also come home earlier than most. I'd estimate he would be to work by 6 am and he'd be home by 4 pm most days. Generally construction projects start earlier in the day to maximize daylight and minimize exposure to heat and sun (among other things).

John’s Answer

Instruction workers tend to have a very early morning start to minimize the amount of sun and exposure. I worked in construction in South Florida for about 4 years and our average work schedule was from 5am to 3pm. We took breaks often to avoid over exhaustion. The hours are fierce, the pay is compensating, but what was the selling point for me, was the intrinsic value added once seeing your completed project standing proud and reliable.
