Wael’s Answer

I am not going to talk about my experience because my undergraduate experience was in a university with a 10% acceptance rate and my graduate experience was compressed from two years to one. However, if you go to class and go over what you take in class just after you should be fine. Also, don't procrastinate. Before you know it you are going to have an exam with two papers and one essay due in the same day. Once I read about a student that treats his university work like a full time job. He spends 8 hours a day between class and studying and he did great.

Kim’s Answer

There are different ways. I would always do my homework first, and then get with my friends. However, some people like to have a little time to unwind after school, before starting their homework. So, you could hang with your friends until 6 pm, and then eat dinner and do homework. If your friends try to tell you to stay longer, you need to be firm and tell them that you need to leave. It will be tempting to have your phone nearby while you are doing homework, , but don't get in the habit of texting when you should be studying. It will break your concentration, and you will not remember what you are doing. You will need to frequently remind yourself that your goal is to get a good education, and everything you do is towards meeting that goal. You might even set shorter goals, such as to get all A's for this semester, or an overall GPA of 3.0, or something like that. Goals should be attainable, but, they should require work to accomplish. Do not set goals that are either too easy or too hard.

best of luck!
