I would recommend attending a college or university that has a 4 year nursing program. When you enter these programs, all of the classes are standardized for your degree.

Ultimately, there are no "good" or "bad" programs -- it all depends on what you're looking for! Some community colleges actually have great RN programs, which are only 2 years and very cost effective. However, getting a BSN (4 year degree) is probably the way to go for better pay and better job prospects. I would recommend reaching out to people you know who are currently in nursing programs or recently finished and asking them what they liked/didn't like about their program. Some schools also hold prospective student events where they have panels of current students talking about the program and you can ask them questions directly. I've always believed the best way to learn about whether a program is a good fit is to talk to students who have been through it! Do research on the school/program as well -- go on the school's website and look up the professors and the courses you would be taking.
