How long will I have to go to school if I want to be a Correctional Officer?

What degrees will I have to get. How long will I have to go to college. What training do I have to complete. #correctionalofficer

To be a correctional officer you do not need a degree. If you are looking to get a degree you can get one in things such as criminal justice and can get higher paying positions such as Sheriff or Patrol.

My partner worked in this field for a while, and it really took a toll on his outlook of humanity and how he views society. It is a very hard, and thankless job. I highly suggest you ask to do a "ride along" (though the term may be different for a CO) and see if their day to day is something that you still find interesting.
