How can I get a job in cultural resource management?

As a graduate student studying Preservation and Cultural Heritage, I am really invested in the ethical stewardship of natural and historic resources. How can I get involved (beyond volunteering at my local SHPO office)? #GivingIsCaring #CulturalResourceManagement #student

Heather’s Answer

I worked in corporate America for 30 years including PR, Public Policy/Affairs and HR. As part of social responsibility, many companies align their business vision and values with conservation, heritage and natural resource management. I was involved in wetlands conservation, heritage homes, or sponsored events at museums to ensure they had funding (vs a restaurant). These company also have philanthropic foundations at local, national and global levels. My suggestion is to read CSR reports from several industries or companies you respect, or don't. You can create more positive change from the inside than out. Good luck!!
