This will very much depend on the State you want to work in. In Mass. you have to get trained by an approved https://www.mass.gov/doc/list-of-approved-75-hour-courses/download. It looks like https://www.mass.gov/doc/266-cmr-4-associate-home-inspector-training-program-requirements/download that's 75 hours of training and an exam.
