What is your favorite part of being a chief exectutive?

I'm in middle school and taking a career class. I took a survey to see what career paths were recommended and chief executive was one. I would like to know if I am interested in becoming a chief executive. #career #cheifexective

Amy’s Answer

My favorite part of being a Leader and in having staff is to mentor young leaders to help them to obtain their fullest potentials! I have learned throughout my career that you can't be in a leadership position for the wrong reasons. You have to love what you do and live it every day that you come to work. Leading people can be challenging if it's not your passion and if you don't love working and mentoring people.

Terry’s Answer

Hi Mira

I recently retired as Deputy Chief Information Officer. As Amy mentioned being in leadership is a huge responsibility. I retired early not because of the work but because of exhaustion. I worked my way up the ladder, loved the work and the people. But I was finding the leading people became just as much of a challenge and knowledge of the work.

Natalie’s Answer

There are many benefits to being a leader including the opportunity to view the entire business from top to bottom and connect all the dots... but what I love most about leading the marketing team at my company is having the ability to influence, inspire, motivate my team and watch them develop to their fullest potential.
