Any profession can be fun. It mostly depend on what you consider fun. If you are passionate and love learning, then the profession you select will definitely be fun.

What I love most about being a mechanic is the versatility of the profession. You could work at a dealership and work on one type of equipment ( car, boat, motorcycle, equipment), which is versatile within it self. You can also work in the field, generators, heavy equipment, etc. The option to be a speciality mechanic, and work on transmissions, brakes, engine etc., or become a master mechanic and work on everything on a vehicle. I work for a college, I believe it is the best mechanic career I could find. Everyday is different. I work on zero turn lawn mowers, weed whips, electric golf carts, generators, bobcats, automobiles, small and large equipment, weld, torch, fabricate. It's as exciting of a career as you want to make it.
