Great question. Physical therapy is an advanced degree that is achieved beyond college. You can choose any college to obtain your Bachelor's degree (usually 4 years). You can major in anything that interests you, keeping in mind that you will have to take certain classes to apply to PT school. Most people major in kinesiology, athletic training, or pre-PT. My undergraduate degree is in fitness and human performance. Some of my classmates were film or psychology majors!

PT school is usually a 3 year program that you complete to receive a clinical doctorate of physical therapy. It is very competitive, so work hard and keep your grades up! Good luck!

Holly’s Answer

Dear Sherrice,
Thank you for the great question. Physical Therapist are in great demand. There are so many colleges availabe for you to attend. This is a great career path. This depends on what city and state you decide to go to college in. I suggest google to google the list of colleges in your area. If you want a commuinty college you can google community colleges. If you want four year colleges you can google four year colleges. This really is dependent on the college that best suits your situation. For instance if you want to go to a community college to get all the pre educatonal credits then transfer to a four year college, then you would want community college. However, if you want to go directly into a four year college then you can google the four year college that offers P.T. if you need help with the list that is why we are here. Anyone at Career Village can help you with a list of colleges in your area.
