Hi to build you own website, you need to learn at least one or two web designing tools.
Wordpress is very popular and easy to use. Also keep in mind you never have to build a website from scratch. There are a lot pre-build template you can can use and all that's needed to fill in your text / contents and your pictures etcc.
Another option is to just pay someone since it's relatively inexpensive these days if you don't have the time.
Most importantly before you can have a site, you have to buy and register the domain or site name with a company like godaddy...I hope that helps.

I am not super familiar with making websites, but you can definitely start with pre-built website builders, like Wix.com. I also remember taking a course on HTML in college, where I built a website using HTML code. But that's just a starting point, I know there are so many other resources for app and website building, but hopefully this can give you a start!
