Daria’s Answer

Write out all things that interest you, are your strengths or things you want to learn. It can be helpful to create a visual you can refer to and this can also help you see how your interests align to the courses offered at your school. Don't be afraid to try something you don't know much about, that's what courses are for, to peak your curiosity and help you figure out where you want to go next.

Consult with guidance counselor on what to take. Talk with them about what interest you have no matter what the interest is. It does not have to be math or finance; it could be art or fixing cars or sports. Ask what are the classes that you need to take. If you are interested in attending college, see if there are any AP course at your school or dual enrollment at a college. And if you are interested in a trade, ask what kind of trade schools there are. Another point to consider is taking as much of a variety of subjects as you can, you may find something that piques your interest and did not know about.
