Hello, that's great question. Education is key. I know for many it's pretty tough trying to narrow down what they choose to major in in college. Research and discover what you're most interested in. The possibilities are endless once you narrow it down. A lot of career options can use varying degrees for positions of interest. I definitely thing education, researching the career options and the positions your interested in are very important.

Patrick’s Answer

Education, research, and volunteering all great steps to prepare for a medical profession. Education will give you a broad understanding in biology, chemistry, and pre-med. Research will give you the hands on experience you need to know what interests you. Volunteering at local hospitals will give you a great opportunity to see how things work and what happens each day. There are so many opportunities and you are not expected to know what you want to do right away. The key is to open up your horizons and experience the many different opportunities in medicine.

Jeremy’s Answer

I will suggest experience. I was 4 years into my career before I attempted college. Now, I am not saying to wait on college for anyone reading this, because going back is so hard. But my situation was unavoidable.

That being said, I feel I have been more successful with my experience over my education. Think about what you want to do within the health care field and build a foundation. I, found my way into Healthcare Administration. I deal heavily with insurance. I obtained a career for 3 years in a Commercial healthcare coverage call center. I needed to learn so much, but that foundation has helped me even today, 10 years later. By seeing the field in a whole, you can narrow down your expertise and interests. Healthcare is massive, start narrowing down what avenue you want to take and start gaining experience...for hands on experience, is the best education you can get!
