What would be the best path to take for a future cosmetologist?
I wish to become I cosmetologist for my future career but what path to take so achieve my goal is getting hard to decide

Educational Pathway for a career in Cosmetology :
While in high school, here is a list of classes to take to prepare for Cosmetology:
- Anatomy
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Speech and Communication
- English

One needs to earn a high school degree or a general educational development (GED) before pursuing Cosmetology school. Cosmetology school is around 12 months at a private beauty school. At these schools, a number of hours are required to complete. According to the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS), the national average of required hours is between 1,400 to 1,600 to depending on the state where the school is located. For Georgia, the minimum requirement is 1,500 training hours and a minimum of 9 months of work experience in order to be eligible to take the PSI exam and apply for a cosmetology license.
An Associates Degree can be earned at a community or technical college. This will take two years to accomplish. In either scenario at a private beauty school or at a community or technical college, there are costs involved for the programs, hands on training, etc. Cosmetology costs can be up to $20,000+ for tuition, books, fees, supplies, etc.
When considering a Cosmetology program, several things need to be researched:

Hi! I decided to go to Cosmetology school when I was in High School. I did it through an ROP program where I went 1/2 day at school my senior year and 1/2 day at beauty school. It was great because I graduated high school with my cosmetology license and my high school paid for me to go through grants. It was a great opportunity! Look into your school and see if that is an option.
My favorite thing about choosing this career path is that I had the option to be a cosmetologist, but I also could do something else if I chose to because my cosmetology school was paid for by my high school and I graduated high school the same as everybody else. Ultimately, I went on to a 4-year college and became a teacher. I never felt guilty for doing that, but I had 2 different career opportunities when I graduated college.
It's okay to be unsure of what you want to do. Know that there are options out there for you!
