Should I live on or off campus in college?

I am going to start my first year of college next year, and I'm not sure if I should live on or off campus. #college

Thank you comment icon Hi Ramtin! Deciding to live on or off campus can be a difficult decision. There are some things that you should think about regarding whether you would feel comfortable having a roommate, is the bathroom private or a community bathroom, will you be able to take a huge step into leaving home and plenty of other things. If you are comfortable with those things then you should definitely live on campus! Campus is a great way for people to feel more connected to their environment and make more connections with other people. Be mindful that living on campus isn't ideal for everyone so definitely give it a shot! See how you like it! Fatimah

Most schools will not let you live off campus your first year, which is a good thing. Your first year is where you make most of your friendships and peer relationships that will carry you through college and beyond. Living off campus is great for many reasons but it can be isolating if you don't have friendships already established. Also, living off campus can force you to find your own transportation, you cannot really eat at the dining hall etc. Although the food isn't usually awesome, it's nice not to purchase and cook your own meals.

at first or two years, you should live on the campus so you can keep contact with your teachers and other classmates. And you will feel convenience in the campus. it will save your time so you can focus on the study.
if you want to live off campus, you can do it at the last year.
