Agree with Dr. Tulsi below. Let me focus on one of her suggestions.

I was a journalism major and switched to communications. Fantastic move on my part. Didn't know it at the time however. Why? Because when you get out of college into the job market no one knows exactly what a communications degree IS. So you can use it in a lot of different career fields. I tweaked it to fit the job I was applying for of course. But over time it worked! For example: I got hired as a radio DJ, newspaper reporter, advertising executive, marketing consultant, tavern owner, ski association executive, a CPA association executive, Legislative candidate, wine marketer, husband, kid wrangler, dog owner.

I never lied or even really stretched the truth in any job application. I was just happy that a communications degree offered me what I considered relevant credentials for many different job opportunities.
