What are the biggest challenges nurses face today?
As a future nurse I'm curious what are some struggles current nurses go through, especially from different perspectives. #Spring25

I currently work in occupational health and right now my biggest struggle is with coworkers. When you work at the bedside you have a team of dozens of nurses, doctors, MAs, CNAs, etc. It's large and diverse group so if there are a couple people you don't get along with it's no problem because (most likely) there will be plenty of people that you do vibe with. However, in a smaller office like where I work where your team is only a small handful of people, not getting along with one or two people can easily be half your team! It seems like a juvenile issue, and it some ways it very much is, but it's important to be happy with your work team so if you do find yourself in such a situation, lots of effort needs to be made to keep those relationships healthy and professional. You don't have to like everyone, but everyone needs to be able to work effectively and professionally together.

Not being able to provide the best care because of the business aspect. The people in charge are cheap and don't care about patients or nurses and staffing and pay are too low .

I agree with Coleen. Would like to add that all the conspiracy theories going around and the people who believe them. This was especially true with COVID. Now it's vaccines again. There is also "Dr. Google". People will google things, diagnose themselves and not believe the doctor. There is also an incredible sense of entitlement. I know that working with this countries healthcare system is a challenge, but we as healthcare workers are doing our best.
