Can I apply for a part time job while I'm in grade 11
I need money to maintain a lifestyle and also pay for tutoring I want to get into a university later or study abroad criminal law

Hi Zahara,
You can definitely have a job while you are in high-school. You just need to make sure that school is your No. 1 priority and manage your time so school doesn't suffer. Typical teen jobs are in hospitality (restaurants or hotels), in retail, sales or brand representation, tutoring, garden services, pet sitting, babysitting, or house sitting.
In choosing a job, I would consider a few things: What is the hourly pay (obviously)? Is the job flexible and can you pick your hours? Can you reach the job location safely? How much time would you spend on commuting, getting ready before the job and cleaning up after the job? Is the job in any way beneficial for your future career?

When I worked part-time in high school, it really helped me manage my time better. I had to plan my study time, which was useful for college and life in general. Plus, working with others on the job taught me teamwork skills that are super helpful for any future career.

Congratulations to you for pursuing a job while you attend school. I would say there are many part time opportunities -garden centers typically are looking for help now that spring is upon us. Department stores are also looking and could offer you a discount to maintain your lifestyle.

Having a part-time job while you're in high school is a fantastic idea! You'll gain valuable experience and learn responsibility by working for someone else. Plus, the extra money can be really useful for fun activities after school. I truly think this is a wonderful opportunity!
