What to do before to be prepared?

Does anyone know what to study after hours to gain knowledge in order to become a vet before you actually go to vet school?

Dear Abby
I suggest you contact a vet nearby and ask if you can get some hours a week working there (paid/unpaid) , then you experience the vet work at close hands getting points when staring your study

You could also find out what textbooks you will use in veterinary school and get a headstart on those.
