I can only speak from experience, but the study abroad program at New York University was amazing and it played a big role in my decision to attend that university. They have at least a dozen study abroad locations around the world that are all really well established. They had incredible courses while I studied abroad, a great dorm, and great programs to get to know the location better. I can't recommend studying abroad enough! It's my most memorable semester in college, and probably still one of my favorite experiences of my life.

I encourage reaching out to your college counselor for various study abroad program opportunities that aligns to what you would like to pursue in! I applied to Keio University for a Japanese program in Japan, while my other friends did a study abroad program in Europe!

Yurika Kristy recommends the following next steps:

Decide what classes you would be interested in taking and would fulfill your credits
Talk to your college counselor (in terms of how it'll affect graduation, major, etc.)
Decide the city/program that best aligns to your interest

There are many options for studying abroad, including those from your college and externally. I personally recommend Forum Nexus (https://forum-nexus.com/). This is a multi-country study abroad program that gives students the unique option of traveling to many countries with their teachers rather than staying in one place.

Hello Tinni!

I think it's awesome that you are interested in studying abroad in college. I attended Centre College in the US which is located in Danville, Kentucky. They have an amazing study abroad program and I highly recommend it. During my years at Centre, I studied abroad in Mexico and it was one of my fondest memories of my entire college experience.

85% of Centre students study abroad at least once, making Centre a top-three school in the nation. The faculty go abroad too, allowing them to live on site with you, share their knowledge of the region, and plan trips and activities. According to the Princeton Review, Centre is #3 in the nation for study abroad opportunities. They provide 9 countries for residential study abroad programs. All enrolled students are eligible for a free passport.

Good luck and happy travelling!
