How flexible is your job?
I wondered if your career is flexible or not, or how much free time you have on your hands?

I can simplify my answer like this really, based on what i have seen
The "Job" Mindset: If you view it as just a job, you clock in, do your tasks, and clock out.
You maintain clear separation and usually stick to those 40-50 hours. This is how you protect your time.
The "Career" Mindset: If you see it as a career you're building, you might choose to devote more time to learning, networking, or taking on extra projects for development. As you said, this is a double-edged sword. It can lead to faster promotions and success, but it also means sacrificing personal time.
You need to be careful not to let your work completely consume your life.
The most important advice is this: Even if you love your career, you have to be intentional about setting boundaries.
Decide how much extra time you are willing to give, and then stick to it. If you don't manage your time, your job will always find a way to fill it
