Which career field or major aligns best with my interests in Criminology, Forensic Science, and Nursing? #Fall25
I am a senior in high school, and I recently won an internship at fort bend county which sparked my interest in crime and has helped me meet people that have done a lot for others, which inspired me to also make a change!

Hi Briseida! The first thing that comes to mind here would be a Medical Examiner or Pathologist. It combines the investigation and problem solving skills of Forensics and (when applicable) Criminology along with Medicine. Best of luck!

Hi there! Depending on what your school offers, you might want to start with Criminal Justice or Criminology. Both will give you a good overview of the field you're interested in. As you learn more, you'll discover what excites you the most. It could be forensics, or maybe you'll enjoy looking at things from a lawyer's perspective. As you progress in your studies, you'll find more specific classes that match your interests. I recommend trying a variety of classes at first, then focusing on what truly captivates you.
If you decide this is the career path for you, consider getting an internship for some hands-on experience.
I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and became a probation officer. I have friends who became police officers, lawyers, and social workers who help people with addiction. There are many paths you can take, and each one is rewarding in its own way!

Hello there!
There are so many career pathways to consider in criminal justice. Peace officer, private investigator, forensic pathologist, forensic investigator, the list goes on and the best part is - there are opportunities for continuing education in almost all of these fields of work. Keep in mind some of these fields (i.e. forensic pathology, forensic investigator) require an aptitude for physical science knowledge. For instance if you were to become a forensic investigator, you'll want to have an understanding of chemistry, mathematics, and analyses methodology (I speak from experience of watching a fellow graduate who had to take such classes & was hired as a forensic analyst right out of college). Don't let it be an obstacle but rather an opportunity to delve into one of the more fascinating fields of study.
