What aspects of college life should I prioritize? How can those aspects help me after college for both professional and social settings? #Fall25
I am currently taking a gap year playing soccer in Spain and will be playing in college next year. As a student-athlete, I am curious about what I should focus on off the field as I am looking for as many opportunities to express myself throughout my college career.

Hi Lowen,
As a student-athlete you are going to be pretty busy with practice, travel and games on top of keeping up with the demands of your major. Good time management and good communication with your professors are going to be crucial.
There will be times when you have to miss classes or even assessments due to your sports and being open and pro-active in keeping your professors in the loop will keep everyone happy. Those are skills that will carry over into your post-college life and serve you well in your professional life.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!
