How important is college gpa? If I double major and take challenging classes, does it matter if I get a 4.0 vs and 3.0 for future job opportunities? Is experience more important?

College GPA matters most early in your career, especially for competitive jobs or scholarship opportunities where it may be used to screen applicants. Maintaining a 3.0 GPA is generally sufficient to qualify for exams and interviews. While in college, it’s valuable to participate in extracurricular activities, internships, volunteering, shadowing, personal projects, research, or technical training related to your field and career goals, as these experiences strengthen your resume and professional readiness. Employers prioritize applicants with solid knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience, not just academic performance.
