I'm from Colorado and plan to go to college in Florida, how has moving states impacted your life and relationships with hometown friends and family?
I'm nervous about the HUGE changes in weather and how that will impact my every day life. How do college students cope with such major changes? I also will know nobody going into college, how do I make myself personable and find friends fast? Also roommates! How do I find a roommate and how bad really can it be?

Hi Elizabeth - this is an excellent question, and Ranjana has given you sound advice. I moved coast to coast for graduate school and found it challenging at times but completely worthwhile. I bet there are social media groups for you and your parents full of good advice about what to buy, how to pack, etc. There likely will be advisors in the dorm to help with the transition as well as mental health counselors.
As for roommates, the college will likely have its own assignment system for first-year students. You will not need to use outside social media to find them. Once you are assigned, you could use social media to learn more about them.
Wishing you good luck!

Start from College-specific Portals and then you can explore apps like Roomster, Roomi, facebook college pages etc.
