What does a ‘day in the life’ actually look like for a child welfare social worker?

I am a psychology major who is really interested in becoming a child welfare social worker, and I'd like some advice on what to expect from the job . I think hearing from a professional about what the job actually looks like on a day-to-day basis would really help me decide whether this is the right career path for me.

Hello that’s a great question. I worked in Child Welfare in DC when I first graduated from grad school. I also have my degree in psychology.
This degree is very important when dealing with this population.
Day to day. Checking case load review the cases needed for court. Schedule home visit to work on the report for court. I remember long hours at work because the cases can be unpredictable and may require emergency placement. I hope this helps.
