What was the hardest part of your journey, and how did this strengthen you?

I respect those who are in health science highly because I know how hard they work. I am really inspired to work in health science but I’ve been wondering, since there are many hard parts of working in this field, what’s the hardest? I know that usually when situations happen in my life with sports, I gain something from the experience. A situation I’ve faced in the past during sports is having to improvise the whole time, which I think is pretty hard working. I want to work in health science because it mainly is about helping people, but I know it’s much more than that and takes lots of commitment, but I’m a patient person who is willing to try for this, I would like to hear about people’s experiences. What was the hardest part of your journey, and how did this strengthen you?

For me, the hardest part of working in health science has always been dealing with people, because everyone comes from different backgrounds, stress levels, and life situations. What you say to one person might comfort them, but the same words could offend or confuse someone else. I’ve worked as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and now as a Practice Manager, and even with all that experience, navigating people’s emotions and expectations is still the most challenging part. But it’s also what strengthened me the most — it taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of meeting people where they are. If you already know you’re patient and willing to put in the commitment, you’re already developing one of the most important skills in healthcare.
