Could you really get a disease from being a cosmetologists?
I am a 7th grader at Crane Middle School and I really want to do cosmetology and I mostly wanna do nails and hair. Although I’ve heard that when you do that job for so long it’s able to give you cancer, lung disease, and skin disorders. And I really wanna know if it’s very dangerous to be a nail tech and also how much practice it will take. But if anyone could tell me how dangerous it is to become a cosmetologist I would really appreciate it. Because I would really like to know what things to avoid.

Luckily, many salons today focus on safety. They use good ventilation, masks, gloves, and safer products, which really helps. When people follow these safety steps, the risks are much lower. Many cosmetologists work for years without serious health issues because they know how to stay safe.
If you're interested in nails and hair, you'll get lots of training before starting your career. Cosmetology school teaches you about cleanliness, safety, and how to use products properly. Getting really good at it takes practice, especially with detailed work, but most people improve a lot during training and their first couple of years on the job.
