It depends where you’re located! Some areas definitely make a little more than the above comment. However I do agree that you need to be careful in outpatient and private clinics , often times the pay sounds higher but it is because you are a 1099 employee.

Now this depends on what setting you choose to work in. If you work in school setting, it can be about $60,000-75,000, however, depending on the school system, you will have a high caseload of students (like 50-70 kids on caseload). Outpatient pediatrics can be about $60,000-80,000 but you have to be careful with that. There are a lot of small business outpatient pediatrics that have terrible benefits or no benefits or make you a 1099 employee. Also, some places don’t pay you if a child does not show up. So if it’s a rainy day or snowy day, good luck. Also, some places don’t do PTO or 401K so be careful with that.
